Rhythm practice
Read a scrolling staff, tap the pulse and track your timing.
Start a session
- Open Rhythm Practice from the app sidebar. Choose your difficulty, tempo, time signature and number of measures. On mobile, open Session settings.
- Select Start session. Immersive practice opens after you start, and the count-in waits for the notation to load.
- Tap each new note as it reaches the yellow playhead. Use Space, F or J, or the large tap button on a phone. One press per note; do not hold the key.
Read the note lengths, but leave rests and tied continuations silent. Only your attacks are scored. The staff scrolls automatically during a session; you can scroll the preview yourself.
Feedback and results
Notes turn green for on-time taps, amber for early or late taps, and red for misses. Well done appears for a precisely timed tap. Results show timing accuracy, notes hit, missed notes and average timing error.
Accuracy rewards taps closer to the beat. Missed notes and extra taps lower it. Your progress contains the detailed timing chart and previous sessions. Compare sessions with the same difficulty, tempo, length, source and assistance; six matching sessions are needed for a trend.
Practise your own scores
With Complete, choose a score from your library, its starting measure and upper or lower staff. Annotune uses the first part and its first voice on that staff. Chords become one tap, and the original score stays unchanged. Full measures in 3/4, 4/4 and 6/8 are supported; unsupported passages show a message.
Sound and timing adjustment
Turn sound on for the count-in and metronome. Wired headphones help minimise audio delay. If steady taps are consistently measured 50 ms late because of your setup, try a timing adjustment of +50 ms. This shifts grading, not the music; it is a manual correction rather than automatic calibration.
Switching tabs or leaving the window ends an unfinished attempt without saving it. Use Back to setup to leave the immersive view.
