Your profile and avatar

Choosing how your account looks across Annotune.

Your avatar appears in the header, in the sidebar and in every account menu. Settings has a Profile card where you choose it.

Choosing an avatar

  1. Open Settings and press Change avatar.
  2. Pick a colour from the twelve available.
  3. Choose either an icon from the set, or switch to Letters and type one or two characters.
  4. Press Save avatar. The preview in the dialog is exactly what everyone will see.

If you signed in with Google

Your Google profile photo is used until you choose an avatar. Choosing one replaces it: deliberately, because an avatar you picked says more about how you want to appear than whatever Google has on file. The dialog offers a way back to the photo whenever you want it.

There is no picture upload, by design. It would mean storing your images, a delivery host to serve them and a deletion path when you leave. An avatar needs none of that.

If you have no avatar and no photo

Your initials are shown, taken from your name, or from your email address if you have not set one. If a Google photo is later deleted at Google's end, the initials appear in its place rather than a broken image.

Your name and email address

Both are in Settings. Changing your email address sends a confirmation link to the new address; the change applies when you open it, so a mistyped address cannot lock you out. Changing your password signs out every other device.
